Einarsson's Trio of Assists Pace Bishops in 8-0 Shutout of LaGrange

Rocky Mount, N.C. - Freshman Olafur Einarsson dished out a trio of assists on Sunday, leading his Bishop men's soccer team to an 8-0 shutout of LaGrange College at Scalf Field. Seven different Bishops tallied scores on the day.

Einarsson's first assist came on the eventual gamewinner in the 26th minute. Junior Caetano Viegas did the honors, netting the first of his two goals in the half.

In the second half, Einarsson assisted on goals by Sheriff Secka and AJ Wadda in the 50th and 60th minutes, respectively. The Bishops proceeded to secure the 8-0 final with four goals in the final 15 minutes as Daniel Kamdem, Chris Imoukhuede, Halldor Bjarneyjarson, and Hunter Staylor all found the back of the net. The goals by Imoukhuede and Staylor were the first of their Bishop careers.

Wesleyan managed a 21-5 advantage in shots on the day, with keeper Jesper Olsson and Alex Magner combining for the shutout. LC's Bonner Brooks made seven stops for the Panthers.

Wesleyan (8-7-1, 6-3 USA South) wraps up its regular season slate on Wednesday when the Bishops host Greensboro College. The match is slated for a 3:00pm start at Scalf Field, and head coach Frankie Taal will be honoring his 2015 senior class prior to kickoff.
