Men’s soccer Throttles Berea

ROCKY MOUNT, NC - The N.C. Wesleyan men's soccer team rolled to a 6-0 shutout win over USA South West Division foe Berea College on a rainy afternoon at Scalf Field.

The Bishops were led by 6 first half goals by 6 different players with sophomore forward Aly Cadet leading the way with a goal and assist.

Cadet got things rolling for the Bishops with his 6th goal of the season in the 19th minute off an assist from Dominique Giovannini. Senior defender Joe Brooks then scored the second goal for the Bishops 10 minutes later off an assist from freshman Lucas Menzo. Freshman Cadribo Godfrey then scored the third goal of the game in the 32nd minute off a Lorenzo Cocchia assist. Over the next four minutes, the Bishops then added two more goals with Cocchia scoring the 4th off an assist from Godfrey and freshman Riccardo Meyer scoring the 5th off an assist from Cocchia again.

Wrapping up the scoring for Wesleyan was freshman Matteo Costa scoring unassisted in the 40th minute to put NCWC up 6-0. They would go on to outshoot the Mountaineers 25-3 as well. 

NC Wesleyan improves to 7-1-1 in the conference with the win and 7-4-1 overall and are next in action right away on Sunday to host West Div. leader Maryville College (Tenn.) at 2:30 pm.
