ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's soccer team jumped out to a quick 4-0 first half lead and would go on to defeat Mary Baldwin University (Va.) 4-2 at Scalf Field Saturday afternoon.

The win improves the Bishops to 5-1-1 on the year and 3-0 in the USA South while their unbeaten streak reaches six games.

Junior forward Baboucarr Njie got the Bishops on the board quick with his penalty kick goal just 90 seconds into the game. Sophomore midfielder Lucas Menzo then made it 2-0 just one minute later with his goal.

Sophomore MF Riccardo Meyer then added the third goal for the Bishops in the 32nd minute before fellow sophomore forward Aazah Daniel put the exclamation point on the half with his unassisted goal in the 44th minute as the Bishops outshot the Squirrels 13-2.

MBU (4-4, 1-2) then made a run of their own scoring two goals in the first 18 minutes of the second half to trim Wesleyan's lead down to two at 4-2 after 64 minutes. However, the Bishops would then clamp down on defense and limit MBU's scoring chances the rest of the way. Wesleyan outshot MBU 20-7 overall.

Wesleyan is back in action tomorrow at 1:00 when they turn around to host Brevard College.
