MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The NC Wesleyan College Men's soccer team completed their road weekend by shutting out their second foe, Maryville College 2-0 in Tennessee on Sunday afternoon. It was the Bishops' 4th shutout in the last 5 games.

The men improve to 13-2-1 overall and 11-1 in the USA South while Maryville drops to 10-6 on the year and 8-3 in the conference.

Wesleyan scored their first goal of the match in the 36th minute as sophomore midfielder Matteo Costa achieved his 8th goal of the year unassisted off a free kick to stake the Bishops to an early 1-0 lead. Wesleyan would outshoot the Scots 9-4 in the half as well.

Wesleyan would then add an insurance goal in the 70th minute off the foot of senior defender Joe Brooks off a nice assisted cross from sophomore Jack Holden. It was Brooks' third goal of the season.

The Bishops would outshoot the Scots 18-10 on the game with sophomore keeper Tobias Borzel stopping all 3 shots he faced in the win.

The Bishops will now have a few days off before they head to Methodist next Saturday to complete the regular season. Their match with the Monarchs kicks off at 7:00 PM.
