Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Jack Holden, N.C. Wesleyan - The sophomore defender from Doncaster, England came up from the back for a corner kick and scored his first-career goal, which proved to be the game-winner, in a 2-1 victory over USA South rival Methodist in the team's only contest of last week. Holden also helped the Battling Bishop defense hold the Monarchs to just one shot on goal during the game as the 14-2-1 Bishops clinched the East Division and a #2 overall seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

Holden beat out 7 other conference nominees for the award, his first, and he now has 2 goals and 4 assists for 8 points on the season.

He will next lead the East Division Champion Bishops into a USA South Tournament quarterfinal game at home at 2 PM vs. Mary Baldwin University on Saturday.

Cost: Students, faculty, and staff are $3, and all other adults are $6.

Additionally, Student Life will be paying for the first 100 students.
