Bishop Soccer Falls 1-0 in Opener

RALEIGH, NC- The NC Wesleyan men's soccer team fell 1-0 to rival William Peace on the road in their season opener on Saturday evening.

After a scoreless first half, Peace (1-0-1) broke through with a goal in the 53rd minute off a rebound from a penalty kick save. 

Unfortunately, Wesleyan could not find the tying goal even as they outshot the Pacers 10-5 throughout the game and 6-2 in the second half.

Wesleyan freshman goalkeeper Matteo Torchio made one save on just two shots on goal. Freshman defender Juan Simoniello led the Bishops with 4 shots. 

NCWC will return to action next Saturday when they come home to host Methodist at 3pm.
