ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's soccer team rallied from behind to shock the Pride of Greensboro College 2-1 in overtime on Tuesday afternoon in the completion of the match suspended by lightning on Sunday.

With the win, Wesleyan clinches the #1 seed in the upcoming USA South East Division Tournament that begins on Saturday. The Bishops will host #4 seed Greensboro College at 2:00 pm.

With Greensboro holding a 1-0 lead after 57 minutes of play on Sunday, the game was halted due to lightning and heavy storms. Wesleyan then took some time to find their footing Tuesday in the 30 minutes of play before finding the tying goal in the 90th minute of action.

Freshman midfielder Juan Simoniello's initial shot was saved by the GC keeper before fellow freshman forward Agustin Rodriguez then kicked Simoniello's shot in off the rebound for the tying goal.

Then, within a minute into the first overtime, GC was whistled for a penalty inside the box giving Wesleyan's Lorenzo Cocchia a penalty kick. Cocchia of course booted it through into the top left corner of the net to give Wesleyan the overtime win.

NCWC outshot the Pride 19-5 overall while freshman goalkeeper Matteo Torchio made 2 saves on 3 shots.

Wesleyan improves to 5-1-1 on the year and finishes USA South play at 5-1. GC falls to 3-3 in conference and 5-3 overall.
