Mens Soccer Dominant in a 6-2 Victory Over Southern Virginia

Rocky Mount, NC – The North Carolina Wesleyan Men's Soccer team defeated Southern Virginia in a dominant offensive performance this Saturday at Don Scalf Field.

The first half for the Battling Bishops saw a total of thirteen shots that led to three goals. At the seventeenth minute mark Senior Andrea Lacche score the first goal of the match that was assisted by Sophomore Tommaso Illario. Freshman Leho Louarn would score with an unassisted goal at the thirty sixth minute. To close out the first half with a 3-0 lead, Sophomore Tommaso Illario would score with another unassisted goal at the thirty eighth minute.

The second half would start off again with a goal by Juinor Santi Buccolini that was assisted by Sophomore Felipe Garcia. Senior Andrea Lacche would add another goal at the sixty second minute that was assisted by Senior Luca Zallo. The last score of the match for the Battling Bishops was by Freshman Justo Esponda that was assisted by Freshman Alex Boumpoutou at the eighty seventh minute.

Freshman Goalkeeper Francious Bouin would finish the match seeing four shots on goal that led to two goals.

The Battling Bishops Mens Soccer team will travel to Brevard College this Saturday to play the Tornados at 1:00pm.
