Rumyantsev and Selander win individual flights at W&L Invitational

Lexington, Va. - Senior Alexey Rumyantsev and sophomore Viktor Selander each won their individual flights on Sunday as North Carolina Wesleyan opened its fall tennis slate at the Washington & Lee Invitational. Rumyantsev went 2-0 with a bye in Flight A, while Selander posted a 3-0 mark in Flight B. Additionally, Rumyantsev teamed with Robert Kjellberg to take the doubles crown.

Other notable performances for the Bishops included sophomore Rinat Khussainov earning the Flight B consolation championship with a 2-1 record, and Kjellberg picking up a pair of singles wins of his own.  As a team, Wesleyan totaled 13 singles victories over the two-day tournament.

Wesleyan returns to action later this month at the ITA Fall Regional Tournament.
