Ferrum, Va. / Greensboro, N.C. - With a 9-0 sweep of Ferrum on Saturday followed by an 8-1 victory over Greensboro on Sunday, the men's tennis team of N.C. Wesleyan continued its recent dominance of USA South opponents, moving to 12-2 overall and 5-0 in league play. The victory assures the Bishops of at least a share of their fourth straight conference title, which they will look to capture out-right on Wednesday versus Methodist.
Versus Ferrum, Wesleyan gave up only five games in doubles action en route to a quick 3-0 lead. Singles play then saw the Bishops earn six straight-set victories.
Against Greensboro, the Pride's lone point came in a three-set victory at #6 singles.
Wednesday's match with the Monarchs is slated for a 4:00pm start at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Complex.
