Rocky Mount, N.C. - Marcelo Prata and Anton Filinov were 8-2 winners at #3 doubles, while their teammates went a perfect 6-0 in singles play to secure a 7-2 victory over Division II Mt. Olive College on Thursday afternoon at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Complex.
Facing a 2-1 deficit after doubles play, NCWC's Rinat Khussainov, Robert Kjellberg, Alexey Rumyantsev, Fred Lemongo, Viktor Selander and Artsiom Prostak all won at #1 through #6, respectively, to complete a singles sweep.
The non-conference win leaves the 18th-ranked Bishops with a 13-2 overall mark heading into NCWC's regular season finale with Methodist, which was suspended on Wednesday afternoon with the Bishops leading 3-0 after doubles play. Play will resume on Monday at 3:30pm with a win clinching Wesleyan's fourth straight out-right league title.
