Wesleyan Tennis Wraps Up Fall Season at Elon Invite

Burlington, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan men's tennis team wrapped up its fall season over the weekend, competing against primarily Division I competition at Elon University's Fall Invitational. Johan Ljungdahl faired well for the Bishops, making a championship appearance in the A2 Singles Backdraw, while the doubles tandem of Mikhail Konnov and Ian Glumov earned a 3rd-place finish in the B2 Doubles Draw.

Ljungdahl picked up wins over opponents from Tennessee Tech and UNC Asheville before falling in the backdraw title match. Elsewhere in singles action, Eduardo Ugalde, Peter Hviid, Ben Tolhurst and Glumov combined for four victories in their respective draws versus competition from UNC Greensboro, Tennessee Tech and N.C. Central.

In doubles play, Konnov and Glumov downed duos from Asheville and Georgia Southern to secure 3rd-place.

The Bishops will now begin preparations for the 2014 spring season.
