Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan men's tennis team continued its USA South dominance on Wednesday afternoon at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center, capturing the program's eighth straight regular season championship with an 8-1 victory over rival Methodist University.

The Bishops once again wrapped up their conference slate with an undefeated record, going 10-0 versus league opponents this spring and extending their regular season winning streak versus USA South competition to 61 matches. Current head coach Dustin Hale was actually a member of the 2009 inaugural championship squad and now celebrates his first title at the helm of the program.

Wesleyan raced out to a 3-0 lead in doubles play as the Bishop duos of Sebastian Sikh/Peter Hviid, J.D. Telles/Mikhail Konnov, and Ioannis Brokakis/Eduardo Ugalde all posted 8-4 wins.

Sikh and Brokakis proceeded to earn straight-set victories at #1 and #2 singles, with the Monarchs (11-5, 8-1 USA South) picking up their lone point of the match with a 10-8 superset win at #3. Mark Sokolov, Konnov, and Henry Lam cruised to a trio of wins in straights at #4, #5, and #6, respectively.

Wesleyan is now 12-6 overall and will take on the College of New Jersey on Tuesday before hosting the USA South Conference Tournament from April 15-17 in Rocky Mount.
