Ewing, N.J. - Sophomore Sebastian Sikh was named the USA South Player of the Week on Monday, then responded on Tuesday with a pair of top-seeded wins in Wesleyan's 6-3 win at The College of New Jersey.

Sikh's Player of the Week nod came after the Eskilstuna, Sweden native earned a victory at both the #1 singles and doubles positions last week versus USA South foe Methodist. In singles, Sikh earned a straight-set win over Methodist's R.J. Clement, who was undefeated in conference play prior to the match. In doubles action, he teamed with Peter Hviid to earn the victory.

On Tuesday at #38 TCNJ, Sikh again paced the Bishops with a pair of victories at the top seed. He and Hviid picked up NCWC's lone doubles point with an 8-4 win. Singles play saw Sikh drop his first set versus New Jersey's Pierce Cooper, but he battled back for 6-2, 6-3 wins in the second and third sets to earn the win. Wesleyan's Ioannis Brokakis, Mark Sokolov, Mikhail Konnov, and Henry Lam were straight-set winners at #2, #4, #5, and #6, respectively, to help the Bishops secure the victory.

The Bishops are now 13-6 overall entering this weekend's USA South Conference Tournament hosted at NCWC's Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center. As the top seed, Wesleyan receives a bye in the first round and will take on the winner of #4 Piedmont/#5 Huntingdon at 2:00pm on Saturday. The Bishops recently secured their eighth straight regular season league title with an undefeated record, going 10-0 versus league opponents this spring and extending their regular season winning streak versus USA South competition to 61 matches.
