Battling Bishops Roll Past Pfeiffer in Men's Tennis Action, 9-0

Misenheimer, N.C. - The 24th-ranked Battling Bishops of North Carolina Wesleyan rolled past Pfeiffer University on Saturday, sweeping the Falcons by a 9-0 score on the road. Wesleyan raced out a 3-0 lead in doubles play, then tallied five of their six singles wins in straights.

Doubles action saw Ioannis Brokakis/Roberto Puig tally an 8-3 victory at the top seed, while J.D. Telles/Aditya Iyer posted an 8-5 win at the #2 position. Sebastian Sikh/David Chang cruised to an 8-1 win at #3 to pad Wesleyan's lead heading into singles play.

Sikh, Brokakis, Iyer, Puig, and Chang proceeded to post straight-set wins at #1, #2, #3, #4, and #6, respectively, with Telles posting a 10-6 in a third set tiebreak at #5 to secure the sweep.

The Bishops (5-3) open up USA South play on Wednesday at home versus league rival Methodist University. The match is slated for a 3:00pm start at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Center.
