Men's Tennis Wins Titles at Bishop Invitational

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's tennis team picked up a few titles at their Bishop Invitational over the weekend at the Slick Family Tennis Center.

Sophomore Juan Vallejo won the A Singles Individual draw with wins over D-2 schools Barton and Mount Olive while also defeating junior teammate Roberto Puig in a three-set thriller, 6-2, 2-6, 11-9.

Vallejo and teammate Ingmar Remmerswaal also teamed together to win the doubles title as well. Sophomore Jhonny Acosta also won the consolation title in the A singles draw by winning 3 straight matches after dropping his opener. Acosta beat opponents from Barton, Shaw, and freshman teammate Matan Amitay in the consolation final match.

Freshman Augusto Roca also won an individual title in the C singles draw as he won 4 straight matches while sophomore Ignacio Mercado also won a title winning easily in the D Singles draw by dominating his two opponents.
