Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Roberto Puig, N.C. Wesleyan - The junior from Malaga, Spain earned a 2-0 singles and doubles record last week for the Battling Bishops. At the number-two singles position, Puig defeated opponents from nationally-ranked Christopher Newport (Va.) as well as Washington & Lee (Va.) in 3 and 2 sets respectively. At the top doubles spot, Puig teamed with sophomore Juan Vallejo to collect the two wins as well.
Puig is now 3-1 on the season in singles and doubles while helping to also lead his Bishops to a 3-1 start to the season. Wesleyan returns to action Tuesday to face Div. II Mount Olive on the road at 2 PM.
