Wesleyan Tennis Programs Pick Up Five Athlete of the Week Awards

MEN'S TENNIS

Men's Tennis Player of the Week

Roberto Puig, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior from Malaga, Spain earned a 2-0 singles and doubles records last week for the Battling Bishops. Puig earned singles wins over opponents from Haverford at the fourth position and Division I Creighton at the third position. In doubles, at second position, Puig teamed with John Falke to defeat Division I Creighton and D-3 Haverford and with Diego Segovia to defeat John Carroll. 

Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week

Luca Knese, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Koln, Germany earned a 2-0 singles record last week for the Battling Bishops. Knese earned wins over opponents from John Carroll at the second position and Division I Creighton at the sixth position. 

Men's Doubles Team of the Week

John Falke and Roberto Puig, N.C. Wesleyan - The Battling Bishop duo earned a 2-0 record at the number-two doubles position last week. The wins came over opponents from Haverford and Division I Creighton and NAIA St. Thomas.

 

WOMEN'S TENNIS

Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week

Kristal Dule, N.C. Wesleyan - The freshman from Ponte, Italy earned 3-1 records at both the top singles and doubles spots last week for the Battling Bishops. In both singles and doubles, Dule earned wins over opponents from Haverford, John Carroll, and Division II Winona State with a losses to Division I Creighton. In doubles, Dule teamed with Elisa Mariotti for the four matches and grabbed three wins.

Women's Doubles Team of the Week

Kristal Dule and Elisa Mariotti, N.C. Wesleyan - The Battling Bishop duo earned a 3-1 record at the number-one doubles position last week. The wins came over opponents from Haverford, John Carroll, and Division II Winona State with a loss to Division I Creighton.
