Barungi Leads Men XC at Greensboro

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's cross country team competed in the Greensboro Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Hagen stone Park and finished 2nd out of 5 teams in the Div. I and II meet.

Junior Philly Barungi, pictured below, led the Bishops finishing 8th overall out of 30 runners running a time of 30:33 in the 8K race while he placed as the top Non-D-1 runner as well. 

Finishing behind him was freshman Ayden Harper in 13th overall with a time of 31:34 as he was 3rd among D-2 runners. Junior Maleik Small then followed in 14th overall with a time of 31:48 while senior Keyonte Williams was 15th overall in 32:41.

Junior Terenthen Parker then came in 21st in a time of 35:10 while freshman Noel Meza was 26th in 37:01.

The Bishops competed against D-2 schools such as Fayetteville St., Livingstone College, Winston-Salem St. and D1 NC Central. 

The men will next be competing in the Golden Eagle Invite in New York on October 10.
