Rocky Mount, N.C. - N.C. Wesleyan's softball team dropped a pair of USA South contests to Greensboro College on Sunday afternoon at Edge Field. The Bishops saw the Pride erase a 7-0 deficit in game one to steal an 8-7 win, then plate ten runs in the nightcap to secure the sweep by a 10-6 score.

Wesleyan scored all seven of its game one runs in the fourth inning as Jasmine Edgren and Tiffany Manning each delivered two-run doubles. The Bishops narrowly missed ending the game 8-0 in the fifth, but NCWC stranded a runner at third to continue play.

From there, Greensboro capitalized on Wesleyan's missed opportunity by scratching five runs in the sixth inning. With two outs in the seventh and clinging to a 7-6 lead, the Bishops twice had chances to end the game. Unfortunately, a throwing error and dropped flyball allowed the Pride to cross three unearned runs and steal the improbable victory.

Edgren received a no-decision on the mound, while also pacing the Bishop offense with two hits.

In game two, GC score in each of its first six at-bats as the Bishops continued to be plagued by fielding miscues. Brittany Manning went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Sarah Roberts ripped a pair of hits and scored two runs.

Freshman hurler Logan Lowery (1-3) took both losses in the circle.

Wesleyan (2-6, 0-4 USA South) continues league play at Methodist University on Wednesday. Game one is slated for a 2:00pm start in Fayetteville.
