Rocky Mount, N.C. - In Saturday afternoon softball action at Edge Field, the Bishops split a league pair with Greensboro by 7-2 and 10-3 scores. Sophomore Logan Lowery earned a complete-game victory in the first game to help the Bishops secure the split.

In the opener, Lowery surrendered two runs on three hits in the first inning before settling in to retire 20 of the next 22 batters she faced. She finished with 10 strikeouts on the day and moved to 4-4 on the season with the victory.

Offensively, Tiffany Manning's sac-fly in the second got the Bishops on the board, while RBI hits by Jasmine Edgren, Alicia Burns, and Peyton Hyler gave NCWC a 5-2 lead after three complete. Burns and Hyler went on to tally RBIs in the fourth to provide the 7-2 final. Burns finished 3-for-4 at the plate for the Bishops, who ripped 11 hits as a team.

In the nightcap, a two-run homer by GC's Allyson Yeager gave the Pride a 2-0 lead in the first. Wesleyan answered with a trio of runs in the third to go up 3-2 thanks to an RBI-single by Edgren and two-run double by Lindsey Sharpe. Unfortunately, the Pride (12-10, 1-5 USA South) plated four runs in both the fifth and seventh innings to pull away for the 10-3 win.

Sharpe (2-4) suffered the loss on the mound, despite helping her own cause with a 2-for-3 showing at the plate.

Wesleyan (8-10, 5-3 USA South) travels to Salem College on Tuesday for a 2:00pm twinbill with the Spirits.
