RALEIGH, N.C.  After sweeping the conference games with Meredith College on Saturday, the Lady Bishop softball team came back on Sunday to go on the road to battle the same Angels in a non-conference doubleheader.

The games on Sunday were a chance for Coach John Brackett to rest some of his senior starters and give some valuable playing time to the udnercalssmen. They showed grit and toughness but ultimately fell 9-7 in game one and 6-3 in game two.

Sophomore pitcher Alexis Wynne grabbed her first start of the season in the circle for game two and tossed all six innings allowing 9 hits and 5 earned runs on 4 walks and 2 strikeouts.

Senior 2B Meredith Booth led off the game with a home run for the Bishops, her 2nd of the year. Wesleyan then took a 3-2 l ead in the 4th scoring on an error and a walk. Then after MC tied it on a sac fly in the 5th, they would put the game away in the 6th scoring three runs (two earned) off Wynne.

Booth and junior CF Logan Winstead led Wesleyan with multi-hit games while catcher MK Raynor also smoked a double.
