Rocky Mount, N.C. - Junior Bristy Parker pulled out an exciting three-set victory at #5 singles, but it would be the only point the Bishops could tally in an 8-1 defeat at the hands of Delaware State on Friday. Wesleyan is now 1-3 on the season.

Parker defeated DSU's Maja Banas by 4-6, 7-5, and 12-10 scores. The Hornets, however, had given up only three points in doubles action before taking the remaining five singles matches in straight sets.

Saturday's tennis action versus Bridgewater was cancelled due to rainy conditions and will not be rescheduled, which means that the Bishops will next take the court on Wednesday versus Division II Shaw University. The match is slated for a 2:00pm start at the Slick Family Foundation Tennis Complex.
