Rocky Mount, N.C. - The women's tennis team of North Carolina Wesleyan picked up a 9-0 USA South sweep of Shenandoah University on Saturday to wrap up a three-match week for the Bishops. Wesleyan had previously dropped matches to Meredith College and Washington College by 7-2 and 8-1 scores, respectively.

On Saturday, the Bishops cruised to their first league win of the season by knocking off the Hornets at home. Wesleyan surrendered just three games in doubles action and went on to secure six straight-set wins in singles play.

Versus Washington on Wednesday, the freshman duo of Yvonne Kamegne and Bibhuti Baral tallied the Bishops' lone point with an 8-2 victory at #3 doubles, while the previous match against Meredith saw Bristy Parker and Tori Jones team for an 8-5 win at #2 doubles. Parker was also a straight-set winner at #5 singles.

The match versus the Angels served as the USA South opener for the Bishops and was much closer than the final score might have indicated.  NCWC narrowly missed a win at top-seeded doubles (8-6), while Kamegne and Samia Kacher lost tight three-setters at #1 and #2 singles.

The Bishops (2-6, 1-1 USA South) will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. on Monday to play a neutral site match versus the University of Chicago.
