NCWC Women Capture Trio of League Victories

Ferrum, Va. / Greensboro, N.C. - In this weekend's women's tennis action, the Battling Bishops captured a trio of USA South victories with 9-0 sweeps of Ferrum, Greensboro and Averett. Wesleyan has now won five straight matches to even its overall record at 7-7. Most importantly, NCWC moves to 6-1 in league play, which keeps the Bishops' regular season title hopes alive!

Against Ferrum, the Bishops surrendered just three games in doubles action, while four of their six singles wins were by 6-0, 6-0 tallies. It was more of the same versus the Pride and Cougars on Sunday as Wesleyan dominated both singles and doubles play.

Currently tied for second in the conference standings, Wesleyan hosts league-leading Methodist University on Wednesday at 4:00pm. The Monarchs are currently undefeated in USA South play, while the Bishops are hoping to force a three-way tie atop the standings as NCWC and Meredith College each have one loss.
