Women's Tennis Competes at ITA Fall Regionals

Fredericksburg, Va. - The women's tennis team of N.C. Wesleyan competed this past weekend at the ITA Southeast Fall Regionals hosted by the University of Mary Washington. Senior Bristy Parker dominated her way to the finals of the B Singles Draw, turning in straight-set victories over players from Sweet Briar, Juniata and host UMW.

In addition to Parker, sophomore Yvonne Kamegne was also victorious in singles play, downing league foe Mariom Cloor of Christopher Newport in straights (6-2, 6-0). Parker and Kamegne later teamed for an 8-5 win over Sweet Briar's Lane/Rosenblum in the Championship Doubles Draw before falling to eventual finalist Poppe/Savage of Salisbury by an 8-3 score.

In B Doubles, senior Samia Kacher and freshman Katie Beeman paired up for two wins over teams from Randolph-Macon and Juniata.

"Our ladies showed that they belong among the region's elite players," said NCWC head coach Worth Richardson. "Bristy was simply dominant in her singles matches, while Yvonne showed that she is force to be reckoned with both in the conference and regionally."
