Raleigh, N.C. - Top-seeded Samia Kacher surrendered just one game at #1 singles and teamed with fellow senior Bristy Parker for an 8-3 win at #2 doubles to help her N.C. Wesleyan tennis squad secure a 9-0 sweep of William Peace University on Wednesday afternoon. The win marks the Bishops' second straight victory in USA South action.
Kacher was a 6-0, 6-1 winner at the top singles flight, while Katie Beeman, Tori Jones, Parker, Tija Riley and Dori Brooks also won in straights a the #2 through #6 seeds, respectively.
The Bishops (2-8, 2-4 USA South) had previously taken a 3-0 lead in doubles play. The duo of Jones and Beeman posted an 8-2 win at the top seed, while Riley and Brooks were also 8-2 winners at the third slot.
Wesleyan returns to action this weekend with road matches at Mary Baldwin and Averett on Friday and Saturday.
