Bishop Women End Season in USA South Tourney

Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan women's tennis team saw its 2013 season come to an end on Friday afternoon, as the 7th-seeded Bishops fell to 2nd-seeded Christopher Newport by a 9-0 score in Rocky Mount. The loss marks the end of the careers of four-year seniors Samia Kacher, Tori Jones, Bristy Parker and Tija Riley.

The departure of Wesleyan's four seniors caps the most successful four-year span of women's tennis in program history. Kacher, Jones, Parker and Riley led the Bishops to a 32-29 record during their tenures, including the program's first USA South Conference title in 2012.

Individually, Kacher will graduate as the program's first four-time All-Conference performer, having secured First Team honors this spring. Additionally, Parker will leave her name in the NCWC Record Book as the all-time leader in singles wins.

As a team, the Bishops complete 2013 with a 5-11 overall record.
