Berber Named USA South Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Fayetteville, N.C. - The USA South has released its weekly awards for March 7th, and N.C. Wesleyan is pleased to announced that senior Valeria Berber of women's tennis has been named the league's Player of the Week.

Berber, a senior from La Piedad, Mexico, earned a 3-0 record at #1 singles and a 2-1 mark at #1 doubles last week for the Bishops. In singles, she did not drop a set in her three victories versus top players from USA South foes Meredith, Mary Baldwin and Ferrum. In doubles, Berber teamed with freshman Stephany Barbera to collect wins over top duos from Mary Baldwin and Ferrum.
