MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College women's tennis team dropped their road matchup with D2 Mount Olive (N.C.) on Wednesday falling 6-1 in the competitive match.

All three doubles matches were very competitive with the Bishops' #2 doubles pairing of sophomore Fariza Abdulloeva and freshman Kimia Rahmani picking up a 7-5 win. However, Wesleyan's other two doubles teams fell 6-3 and 6-4 as the Lady Trojans were able to win the one doubles point available. The #3 pairing of junior Julianna Johnson and Chandler Brice dropped the tough 6-4 battle.

Abdulloeva got Wesleyan their lone win in singles at the top line as she won a three-setter by dominating the final two sets by 6-1 scores after dropping the first 4-6. Johnson then lost a tight three-setter at the #5 position 6-4, 2-6, 3-6 while senior Nicole Halabi dropped a close two setter 4-6, 5-7.

Wesleyan falls to 1-1 on the year while UMO improves to 6-2. The Lady Bishops return to action this Saturday when they and the men compete against Salisbury University in Maryland at 10 AM. The men will first battle Salisbury on Friday at 4:00 PM.
