Lady Bishops Drop a Pair of Matches to Nationally Ranked Opponents

Newport News, VA - This past weekend, the NC Wesleyan women's tennis team faced tough competition against nationally ranked Emory and Rhodes. On Friday, the Lady Bishops took on the #9 ranked Emory team and unfortunately were unable to win any matches, resulting in a 9-0 loss. However, Kristal Dule and Andrea Miranda Elaez put up a strong performance in their doubles match, scoring three points.

On Saturday, the ladies faced Rhodes and had a closer match, ultimately falling 6-3. The women were able to win 2 of the 3 doubles contests, including a strong 8-5 victory by Bethan Fothergill and Andrea Miranda Elaez. Kristal Dule had a standout performance, winning her #1 singles match 6-3, 6-2.

The Lady Bishops fall to 2-9 for the season and will be traveling to Salem on Monday for their next match.
