Freshman Sprinter Brooks to Compete in 100M at Nationals Friday

GENEVA, OH - NC Wesleyan University freshman sprinter Mariah Brooks will be running in the 100 meter preliminaries at the NCAA Track & Field Championships on Friday afternoon from the University of Mount Union in Geneva, OH.

Her 100 meter preliminary race will begin at approximately 3:30 PM. If she qualifies for the finals of the 100 meters, she will then race on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 PM.

Brooks, the USA South Rookie of the Year, qualifed 7th out of 22 in the 100 meters with a qualifying time of 11.91 seconds. Brooks set two sprinting records at the conference meet last month in the 100 meters (11.9) and 200 meters (25 seconds).
