Rocky Mount, N.C. - The N.C. Wesleyan athletic department is proud to announce that track&field athlete Ahnia Cherry has been named the school's Female Athlete of the Year. As a homegrown product from Rocky Mount, Ahnia placed 1st in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes while breaking the DIII Atlantic Championship meet records in the same events. This spring, she held the top spot in the 60-meter dash for the South Region on several occasions and maintained a top-five ranking in the South Region in both indoor and outdoor track. Also in her rookie campaign, Ahnia received All-American accolades four times {60m, 100m, and 200m), and was the highest finisher in school history at the NCAA Indoor National Championships.
