Newport News, Va. - North Carolina Wesleyan's 2011 volleyball season came to an end on Friday night with a 3-0 loss to Christopher Newport in USA South Tournament semifinal action. The top-seeded Captains posted 25-14, 25-10 and 25-16 wins over the 4th-seeded Bishops, who finish the season with a 20-11 overall record, marking the program's fifth straight 20-win season.

Junior Anna Hart led Wesleyan with a team-high nine kills, while senior Mackenzie Tingle wrapped her stellar Bishop career with 19 assists and seven digs. Libero Shana Ayers recorded 10 digs to anchor NCWC's defensive effort.

The Captains (32-4) posted an impressive .440 team hitting percentage and were paced by Jessie Heavenrich's double-double of 38 assists and 14 digs. Four CNU players managed double-digit kills, led by Christie Fellows with a match-high 12

Wesleyan now says farewell to Tingle, one of the most decorated players to ever wear the Blue & Gold.
