Bishop Volleyball Splits League Pair at LaGrange

LaGrange, Ga. - N.C. Wesleyan's volleyball team split a pair of league matches at LaGrange College on Saturday. The Bishops suffered a 3-0 sweep by the host Panthers in the opener, but rebounded for a 3-0 victory of their own versus Huntingdon in the nightcap. NCWC was paced by sophomore Tori Stewart's 26 kills over the two-match span.

Versus LaGrange, set scores were 25-21, 25-20 and 25-23. In addition to Stewart's 11 kills, junior Kayla White dished out 19 assists, while sophomore Evie Hunter anchored the defensive effort with 12 digs.

Against Huntingdon, set scores were 25-16, 25-19 and 25-22. Stewart turned in double-double of 15 kills and 11 digs. White teamed with fellow setter Ayla Brewer for 35 assists, and libero Christina Huber managed a match-high 16 digs. As a team, the Bishops posted 40 kills to the Hawks' 24.

Wesleyan (4-13, 3-6 USA South) continues league play on Wednesday when the Bishops travel to Greensboro College. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:00pm.
