Hunter Leads Wesleyan Volleyball to 3-1 Victory at Mary Baldwin

Staunton, Va. - Junior Evie Hunter racked up a team-high nine kills to lead her North Carolina Wesleyan volleyball squad to a 3-1 USA South victory at Mary Baldwin on Thursday night. Set scores were 25-15, 25-15, 19-25 and 25-11.

The Bishops used a host of Baldwin miscues to cruise to 10-point victories in the first two sets. After MBC stayed alive with a 25-19 win in the third, Wesleyan dominated the fourth and raced out to a 17-2 advantage before sealing the match by a 25-11 score. Baldwin again struggled to overcome unforced errors, finishing the night with 28 attack errors and 16 service errors.

In addition to Hunter's nine kills, Tori Stewart and Samantha Morton added eight of their own, while Stewart recorded five of the Bishops' 15 service aces. Also turning in solid performances for NCW were Ayla Brewer with 17 assists and Christina Huber with 15 digs.

The Bishops continue league play on Saturday versus LaGrange and Huntingdon. Both matches will be hosted by William Peace University.
