MEADVILLE, Pa. - The NC Wesleyan College volleyball used three crunch-time kills from senior middle Hannah Thrasher to rally from two points down in the 5th set and knock off Thiel University (Pa.) on the road.

The neutral site match saw four of the 5 sets all finish within three points with the Bishops taking the first two and the Tomcats taking the final two to force the fifth. Thiel (1-8) got out to a lead in the fifth and led 14-12 with match point on their serve until Thrasher spiked the Bishops out of trouble. Wesleyan would then take the final set 18-16 for the win.

Thrasher finished with 12 kills on the night hitting .296 with 7 digs, 2 aces, 2 blocks, and one assist while junior OH Callie Cline led the team with a huge double-double of 16 kills and 27 digs, both season-highs for her. She also had an ace and 3 blocks.

Junior Libero Sam Butensky led the Bishops with a new season-high of 31 digs while senior setter Haileigh Riesenbeck had 27 assists and 10 digs. Fellow senior setter Kelly Ammons also recorded a big double-double with 20 assists and 14 digs. Sophomore right side Sydney Barnwell also played well tallying 13 kills with 6 digs and 2 blocks.

The Lady Bishops, now 3-4, next take the court on Saturday at Allegheny College (Pa.) at 12 PM before playing Fredonia, NY at 2 PM in a neutral match.
