ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College Volleyball team rallied back in the fifth set to stun the previous 10-2 Pacers of William Peace University 15-10 in the fifth set on Tuesday in front of a raucous Everett Gym crowd.

USA South rival Peace (10-3) came out and took the first set 25-17 before the Bishops came back to take the 2nd and 3rd sets 25-22 and 25-18. Peace then rolled through game four 25-15 and got out to a strong 9-4 lead in game five. However, the Bishops would not be deterred as they would finish the game and the match on a 11-1 run to shock the Pacers and pick up their third straight win improving to 6-7 on the year.

The Bishops used 13 kills to hit .233 in the third set to win and hit .167 with 7 kills to take the 5th. Each team was pretty even on the attack as they both hit 49 kills apiece, but Wesleyan totaled 80 digs to Peace's 69.

Sophomore right side Sydney Barnwell led the Bishops with 14 kills hitting .167 with 5 digs and a block while senior middle Hannah Thrasher played very well recording 10 kills with just one error while hitting .450. Thrasher also blocked 4 attacks and served four aces with 2 assists.

Junior OH Callie Cline tallied a double-double in the win as well recording 10 kills and a team-high 23 digs along with some clutch serving in the decisive fifth set. Sophomore middle Lauren Weaver also recorded 6 kills with 3 blocks and 2 digs while freshman Aubrey Nicholson stepped up big late in the match with 6 kills, 4 digs, and an ace.

The senior setting duo of Kelly Ammons and Haileigh Riesenbeck also came up big combining for 44 assists as they each assisted on 22 attacks while also adding 12 digs combined. Junior libero Sam Butensky played quality ball throughout the match as well recording 21 digs with three aces and an assist.

The Bishops return to action on Saturday when they head to Fayetteville to battle Methodist and Averett in a conference tri-match at 2 and 4 PM.
