Volleyball Falls at VA Wesleyan

Virginia Beach, Va. - The NC Wesleyan College Volleyball team fell 3-0 on the road to a quality ODAC foe, Virginia Wesleyan, on Wednesday night.

VWU (22-7) won the match 25-15, 25-10, and 25-20 as they had 43 kills and hit .282 for the match. NC Wesleyan recorded 10 kills in the third set as sophomore middle Lauren Weaver led the team with 5 kills hitting .176 with two digs.

Senior middle Hannah Thrasher also added 3 kills with a block while junior libero Sam Butensky led with a team-best 11 digs, an ace, and 2 assists.

Senior setter Hayleigh Riesenbeck also just missed a double-double with 10 digs and 9 assists while fellow setter, Kelly Ammons had 10 assists and 4 digs. Junior Callie Cline and freshman Aubrey Nicholson also combined for 5 kills and 17 digs in the loss. 

The Lady Bishops fall to 10-21 with the loss and will now prepare for their final regular season matches on Saturday at Pfeiffer (N.C.). The tri-match begins at 2 PM with a neutral match against Mary Baldwin.
