MOUNT OLIVE, N.C. – The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) announced its selections for the 2019 College Division All-State Women's Volleyball Teams on Thursday afternoon. A total of 14 student-athletes from 11 different North Carolina schools were named to the first and second teams.
Nominations were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by NCCSIA members.
NC Wesleyan sophomore right side hitter Sydney Barnwell was named to the All-State First team for leading the Lady Bishops in kills this season with 299 kills over 31 matches while hitting at a .182 clip for the season. She also averaged 2.5 kills/set along with 105 digs and 50 total blocks on the season resulting in 331 points for the Bishops.
Founded in 2002, the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
