ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- The NC Wesleyan College women's lacrosse team fell behind early at home to nearby D-2 foe Barton College and fell 18-3 on Thursday afternoon.

Barton (3-1) got out to a quick 7-0 lead over the first 6 minutes before adding 7 more goals in the first half while the Bishops would add two of their own from freshman attacker Grace Look and sophomore Ali Cucinotta.

The second half was much more competitive with Barton only outscoring the Bishops 4-1. Wesleyan struggled with the fast-paced offense of Barton and their physical play, but the Bishops did not quit fighting all the way until the end.

Cucinotta finished with a goal and an assist on the day along with 7 ground balls and 3 draw control wins while forcing 3 Barton turnovers.

Look would score her second goal of the game in the second half off an assist from freshman midfielder Madison O'Neill as well. Look would also finish with 2 draw wins while O'Neill picked up 4 ground balls as well as a draw win and a caused turnover.

Sophomore attacker Ken'Dreall Copeland also picked up five GBs on the day while freshman goalie Millenia Crespo made 9 saves and got 3 GBs.

Wesleyan falls to 0-2 and will next go on the road for their spring break trip going down to Texas to face D-3 foes Dallas University on Sunday at 1:00 PM and Southwestern University (TX) on Tuesday at 6 PM.
