Women's Lacrosse Selected to Finish 8th in Preseason Poll

The USA South Athletic Conference's women's lacrosse coaches have released their 2022 preseason poll. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting. A new addition to the sport of women's lacrosse within the Conference will be Southern Virginia who enters the League for its first year of membership.

Meredith is the preseason favorite to continue its reign within the League. The Avenging Angels have won seven consecutive USA South tournament championships and completed the last five regular seasons without dropping a Conference contest. Newcomer Southern Virginia, positioned second in the preseason poll, will look to make some waves in its inaugural season within the League.

The Lady Bishops, coming off a 2-10 season, were selected to finish 8th out of 11 with 35 points and begin their season with a home scrimmage on Feb. 5 against NAIA foe Montreat College.

The 2022 USA South Women's Lacrosse Tournament will be conducted exclusively on campus sites with the top-six teams advancing to postseason play.
