Lacrosse Drops Neutral Site Game vs. Berry

BREVARD, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College lacrosse team dropped their neutral site match with Berry College 20-2 on Thursday in Brevard, NC.

Berry (7-1) got out to a fast start leading 9-0 after the first quarter before taking a 12-1 lead into the break. Wesleyan's senior defender Aydriyan Upchurch scored the only Bishop goal in the 2nd quarter unassisted.

The third quarter also saw Berry shut out the Bishops 5-0 to lead 17-1. In the fourth quarter, Wesleyan added another goal from senior midfielder Madeline Graham unassisted as well.

Junior goalie Makiyah Owens made 7 saves on 27 shots on goal and three ground balls while Graham and sophomore midfielder Blaire Harley led the way with four shots apiece. Berry outshot Wesleyan 35-12. Upchurch led the team with 3 GBs while sophomore Aisling Key and freshman Lily McCarty picked up two each.

Wesleyan falls to 0-5 overall and were supposed to return home to host Greensboro on Saturday but their game was postponed due to weather and will be made up later in March.
