Greensboro, N.C. / Danville, Va. - The Battling Bishop men's basketball team got a season-high 28 points from Brandon Brown on Saturday afternoon en route to a 94-85 USA South win at Greensboro College, avenging a 3-point loss to the Pride just two weeks ago. Wesleyan looked to do the same at Averett University on Sunday, but the Cougars out-scored the Bishops 47-27 in the second half to seal the 81-62 victory.

On Saturday at Greensboro, both teams shot an identical 48.6 percent from the floor in the first half, but the Bishops were able to connect on 9-of-12 attempts at the charity stripe to forge a 50-41 lead at the break. GC was unable to overcome the deficit in the second half, as Wesleyan knocked downed over 46 percent of its attempts from the floor, in addition to netting another 18 points at the free throw line.

NCWC's D.J. Weaver complimented Brown with 22 points, while fellow junior Jesse Simpson and senior Allen Hauser chipped in 15 and 14 points, respectively. As a team, the Bishops held a 45-36 advantage on the glass, led by Brown's seven rebounds on the day.

Will Griffin led all players with 38 points for the Pride (14-9, 7-5 USA South).

Versus the Cougars on Sunday, Wesleyan held a slim 35-34 lead at the half thanks to a hot start and 12 first-half points by Brown. Averett proceeded to hold the junior post to just two points in the second half, and the Cougars shot nearly 60 percent from the floor to pull away for the victory.

Weaver netted 16 points for the Bishops, and freshman Adrian Moore added 12.

Averett (15-8, 9-3 USA South) was led by Bradley Robinson's game-high 20 points.

Wesleyan (12-11, 6-6 USA South) will host its 2015 home finale and Senior Night on Wednesday evening when the rival Monarchs of Methodist University visit Everett Gymnasium for a 5:30pm tip. The Bishops will be showing their support of the 2015 Play 4Kay campaign that night and are encouraging pink attire.

Additionally, in lieu of admission, fans are asked to donate to the USA South's Pennies for a Purpose campaign that recently kicked off across the league's 13 campuses. While the conference's annual drive runs through April 2nd, all of Wednesday's donations will be designated for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.
