Bishops Capture Regular Season Championship in OT Thriller at Brevard

Brevard, NC - The North Carolina Wesleyan men's basketball team defeated Brevard Sunday afternoon 74-68. The Bishops improve to 20-4 on the season and 12-1 in the USA South. Sunday's win also clinched the USA South regular season championship for the Bishops.

For the game, junior Isaiah Lewis dominated once again this week putting up a monster 22 points and 13 rebounds for the contest. Sophomore guard Khalid Chavis-Hinds also scored 16 points for the Bishops to contribute to a well-balanced stat sheet for the game.

Wesleyan was able to shoot around 40% for the game and was able to come up with a big OT win by winning the rebounding battle 48-36. Another noteworthy performance on the offensive side of the ball was by guard Brayden Dixon who had 12 points and 6 assists and forced 3 turnovers to cap off the conference championship.

On defense, Wesleyan forced Brevard to commit 20 turnovers and convert those into 26 points. Brevard was also held to under 35% from behind the arc.

The Bishops will be back in action on Saturday for senior day as they host Mary Baldwin for a 4 pm tip-off
