Bishops Extend Win Streak to Eight, Down Ferrum 67-58

Ferrum, Va. - N.C. Wesleyan never trailed en route to a 67-58 USA South win at Ferrum College on Saturday. The victory is the Bishops' 8th straight and gives them a league-leading 10-2 record in conference play.

Despite never leading, the Panthers did manage to force five ties in the first half, the latter coming at 24-24 with 2:54 remaining in the period. NCWC sophomore Adrian Moore proceeded to reel off the game's next six points to give his Bishops a 30-24 lead at the break. Wesleyan went on to lead by as many at 16 in the second half.

Moore finished with a game-high 19 points, and he was joined in double-figures by seniors Brandon Brown and D.J. Weaver with 14 and 12 points, respectively. Moore also added five steals, while Brown and senior Shannon Huff pulled nine rebounds apiece.

For Ferrum (12-11, 7-5 USA South), Rashawn Speas and Josh Grimard combined for 25 points and 10 boards.

Statistically, the difference in the game came on the glass where NCWC held a 46-31 advantage, which resulted in an 18-8 difference in second chance points.

Wesleyan (17-6) continues USA South play on Wednesday night at Averett University. Tip-off versus the Cougars is slated for 7:30pm.
