A.J. Frye, N.C. Wesleyan - The senior center from Wilmington, North Carolina averaged 27.0 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block per game as the Battling Bishops posted a 1-1 record last week. In an 82-77 loss to SUNY-Oneonta in the first game of the Medgar Evers Tournament, Frye posted 22 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block.
In a 100-70 victory over D'Youville in the third-place game, Frye tallied a game-high and season-high of 32 points to go along with eight rebounds, seven assists, one steal and one block as Frye flirted with a triple-double in leading the Bishops back to .500 with their 5-5 record.
Frye will next lead Wesleyan back into USA South play this coming weekend when the Bishops play West Division foes Piedmont and Brevard on Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 each day.
