Men Put up over 100 in rout of Greensboro

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. - The NC Wesleyan College men's basketball team put on quite the show for the "Back to School Jam" home crowd on Wednesday night rolling to a 107-70 win over Greensboro College.

Wesleyan was led by a season-high of 23 points from senior forward Rico Bullock on 5 of 7 shooting from the three-point arc along with 4 rebounds and a block. Junior guard Damon McDowell also scored 20 points with 10 rebounds for a double-double along with 3 assists and 2 blocks while fellow guard Josh Covington posted his second double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 assists along with 6 rebounds in the big win.

Wesleyan outscored the Pride 49-33 in the first half on 47 percent shooting before increasing that percentage to an unbelievable 64 percent in the second half as they went 20 of 31 overall from the field and better than 50 percent from three going 6 of 11 in the second half as well Wesleyan routed the Pride 58-37.

Sophomore forward Isaiah Lewis also played well scoring a season-high of 14 points with 5 rebounds while also blocking a season and career-best 4 blocks. Senior center A.J. Frye then added 12 points and 5 rebounds, his 10th straight double-digit game.

Wesleyan improves to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in the USA South with their third game reaching 100 points this season as every member of the Bishops' basketball team scored in the game on the night. Wesleyan also out-rebounded the Pride 54-32 as well.

The Bishops return to action on Saturday as they remain home to host Pfeiffer University at 2:00 PM on Veterans Appreciation Day.
