Montgomery, Ala. - The NC Wesleyan Men's college basketball team rallied from behind to grab a road win over conference foe Huntingdon College 77-74 on Saturday afternoon.

Junior guard Damon McDowell led the Bishops with a season high of 29 points on 10 of 14 shooting from the floor. McDowell made 5 of 6 three-pointers on the day along with 5 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.

Freshman guards Brayden Dixon and Tim Pettiford also added 11 and 12 points respectively off the bench to equal their highest point totals of the season.

Huntingdon got off a fast start leading 19-5 at one point in the first half before the Bishops went on a methodical rally to get to within three (40-43) at the break.

The Hawks would then push their lead back to double digits again running out to a 13-point advantage early in the second half at 53-40 with 16 minutes to play. However, Wesleyan would then go on a 20-6 run to take their first lead of the day at 60-59 halfway through the second half.

McDowell's back-to-back three pointers with 3:39 to go then gave the Bishops the lead for good at 70-68. Layups from freshman guard Garrett Phillips and Dixon gave Wesleyan a 75-70 lead with under 30 seconds left to play and helped clinch the game for the Bishops.

Seniors A.J. Frye and Rico Bullock also added 8 and 7 points apiece while sophomore forward Isaiah Lewis blocked three shots. Wesleyan shot 50 percent for the game and a stellar 55.6 percent from three-point land (10 of 18) while holding the Hawks to just 39 percent shooting from three.

Wesleyan improves to 7-9 on the season and 3-5 in the conference while Huntingdon falls to 7-8 overall and 4-4 in the league.
