The USA South Athletic Conference has announced its 2019-20 All-Conference awards for men's basketball. Covenant College's Will Crumly was named Player of the Year, Maryville College's Felix Uadiale earned Rookie of the Year honors while Averett University's Dave Doino collected Coach of the Year accolades. Finally, the USA South recognized an All-Sportsmanship Team consisting of one member from each competing school.
All awards are voted on by the men's basketball coach at each institution. The awards will be presented to individuals from teams competing in the semifinal round of the USA South Men's Basketball tournament immediately following the conclusion of the first semifinal contest.
NC Wesleyan had two players named to the All-Conference Second team. They are senior center A.J. Frye and junior guard Damon McDowell. McDowell led the team by averaging nearly 20 points/game with 6.5 rebounds and almost 2 assists while shooting over 36 percent from three. Frye also averaged 17.1 points/game and 6 rebounds with 2.3 assists as shes shot 40 percent from three and 55.7 percent overall for the season.
Senior forward Mitch Layton was also named to the All-Sportsmanship team.
They each helped lead the Bishops to a 13-13 overall record and a 4th seed in the conference with a winning conference record at 9-8.
